- The Hadīth points out the excellence and greatness of Islam and that it wipes out the sins committed before embracing it.
- It shows Allah's vast mercy towards His servants and His forgiveness and pardon.
- Shirk (polytheism) is prohibited, and so is killing a soul without right and the charge of adultery. There is a warning to those who perpetrate these sins.
- True repentance coupled with sincerity and righteous deeds expiates all major sins, including disbelief in Allah Almighty.
- It is prohibited to despair and lose hope in the mercy of Allah Almighty.
